Dear, oh dear...

Today's post, just like many of those to come, is about nail polish. It's safe to say those tiny little bottles of delicious colours are an obsession, and I have far. too. many. This realisation does not stop me from buying more, however. The excitement from getting nail mail certainly doesn't help the cause!

It was like pass-the-parcel, with four different layers to work my way through!
Left: Pahlish Coney Island Queen. Right: Pahlish Oh Dear...

The polish I want to review today is one I got from a destash of a fellow polish-lover. It is a delicious milky white creme with mini and macro rainbow glitter in squares and circles (green, blues, greys, gold, red) by Pahlish Polish, called Oh dear... I bought this not really sure of what it was like, but I am so glad I got it! I haven't got a lot of Pahlish Polish, and the first one I got was a disappointment formula wise. But this one! Mmm.

I am a huge fan of creamy polishes with fabulous glitter, and this polish is certainly that! It's subtle enough that it doesn't demand immediate attention, but glitzy and pretty enough to still catch the eye. This polish went on lovely and smooth, and even at one coat it was pretty enough to wear on it's own. It took three coats for full opacity, but they dried quickly and well. All around, a fantastic polish to use and look at.

I am in love with it. What do you think? (Excuse my nails and cuticles; they're a little beaten up. I just took off a set of acrylics) Isn't it pretty-ful?

Three coats Pahlish Oh Dear..., with one coat Sally Hansen Diamond Flash top coat.

What on earth...?

What is Stirr?
Stirr is a not-so-new idea that I wanted to try out. The blog is intended to be a catch-all for the fun things in my life - baking, nail polish, moustaches and cuteness. And probably a good dose of randomness.

Why 'Stirr'?
Two of the great loves of my life are baking and nail polish - both of which require stirring. I wanted a simple name, for a simple concept that wasn't too specific so that I am not limited in my content.

Who is Lisette?
A high school teacher from New Zealand with an expensive nail polish addiction, moustache obsession, a penchant for dry or absurd wit, and access to far too much technology.

Have you blogged before?
Yes I have, but it was solely a baking blog. Working full time these days I don't have the free time to devote to regular posts on a baking blog that require step-by-step instructions and photos. I hope that this blog will still allow me to indulge my love of baking, but be less of a burden as the time constraints will be fewer.
